1041 Cypress Avenue; although the address might only sound vaguely familiar, many San Diegans remember Betty Broderick, whose name made national headlines more than 24 years ago. The home, also the crime scene, is now on the market. 

The La Jolla socialite and suburban housewife was convicted of the November 5, 1989 murders of her ex-husband, Daniel T. Broderick III, and his second wife, Linda (Kolkena) Broderick.

On the night of the murder, Betty Broderick got into the home and proceeded to fire off her .38 pistol, killing her ex-husband and his new wife.

Betty was convicted on December 11, 1991 of two counts of second-degree murder and later sentenced to 32 years to life in prison.

This crime happened over 24 years ago and legally sellers

Rancho Bernardo plans to say “thank you” to the communities` volunteers on Saturday, April 26th at the fifth annual "Hats Off To Volunteers" event. Windermere Homes & Estates is proud to announce that agent Patti Hall is among those honored at the event.

While the real estate industry moves mobile, Windermere Homes & Estates places high value on the brick and mortar office.

Many real estate professionals have felt that as technology increases, our industry moves to a completely mobile business. While we can do pretty much anything from our laptops, tablets and phones and being “paperless” has become even more popular, the need for a brick and mortar real estate office may seem less important.

Agents can work from home or out in the field, showing property, doing inspections, etcetera. Why would they need to come into their brokerage office other than to pick up a check?  And even that can be set up to direct deposit into your bank account.

Housing Inventory Low and the Builders are Building…

As you drive around Encinitas, you'll notice the building of new houses from Leucadia to Cardiff.  It's exciting and sad to see how the older properties or defunct flower fields in Encinitas are now being developed into residential neighborhoods.  Sad because we had open space and, on the other hand, exciting that we are adding homes to our existing housing shortage through "infill" projects.    In the last 4 years, we have had many neighborhoods built or are in the process of being built…
