Is Now a Good Time to Sell?

 

As many of us gear up for a new year in the real estate market, many questions come to mind. One of which that most owners consider is, “Is now a good time to sell?” While the answer may not be as simple as saying yes or no, there are some things to consider that may sway your decision on listing in the near future.

With the low inventory in the Rancho Bernardo, 4S Ranch and Poway areas, many are frustrated with their house hunt. It doesn`t always occur to prospective home buyers that if they expand their search just a few miles, they can open new doors and view more homes that are only a few minutes from their desired neighborhood.

Common belief may be that the best season to sell your home is spring, and the best time to buy is fall. Although there is merit to this argument, not everything is so concrete. There really are so many variables to take into consideration when buying or selling, no matter what the season is. 

Spring is the best time to sell for reasons such as 1) the weather is the most agreeable for showings, 2) most people want to get settled before summer, 3) it is logistically the easiest for moving boxes (who wants to move boxes in the snow?), and most importantly, 4) we have longer days of sunlight in the spring!
